Perhaps my Lan devices are not checking that often. the wireless devices, especially google speakers, rokus, etc, REALLY hate small disruptions in the service, while my lan devices are capable of withstanding the problem, like a security issue. I used to use a Raspberry Pi hooked up as a PiHole DNS, and I had the same issue with that, under my main router When speaking to google technical support, they told me that there devices appear to be blocked by some sort of firewall. It would then cycle to attempt to reach the DNS. Everytime the Roku would drop, the DNS was unable to be reached. Removing the roku, and everything worked fine for just my phone.Įnter the weird part. I just changed my SSID to something new, and turned off all 25 of my wifi devices With just LAN connected, and my phone and Roku connected via wifi the roku would constantly drop connection. But in the logs it will show the device reconnects every 10-15 seconds, then drops back off again. I have will watch them drop from the network, then when attempting to reconnect, it will fail. All of my wifi devices, at random, can not stay connected. SSID goes live, either under a single SSID for 2.4 and 5, or 2 seperate SSIDs, 2.4 being the less stable, 5 being slightly better. First, want to preface this with letting you know that I work in IT, and what I am about to suggest is going to sound WEIRD.
